Our own special Perineal massage vitamin-E rich blend of Wheatgerm and Peach Kernel oils is gentle on the skin and extremely effective at preparing the perineum for labour. This rich, nurturing blend is high in minerals, vitamins and antioxidants whilst being deeply nourishing, encouraging skin suppleness and elasticity.
Perineal massage is recommended in the latter stages of pregnancy to reduce the likelihood of tearing during birth and also help with speedier recovery of the perineum after birth. Our carefully selected natural oils combined with regular perineal massage help to increase the natural suppleness of the perineum.
Wheatgerm is a viscous, dark orange oil with a distinctive aroma. It is an extremely valuable source of essential fatty acids, antioxidants, vitamins A, D, E and B vitamins. It contains 190mg vitamin E per 100ml. Vitamin E helps reduce skin damage and supports healthy collagen formation.
Wheatgerm oil softens, moisturises and boosts the regenerative powers of the skin, helping to reduce scarring. It is readily absorbed by the skin so leaves no greasy feeling after use.
Peach Kernel is a pale orange tinted oil with a light, velvety texture and a delicate, sweet aroma. Its main therapeutic components are the omega fatty acids oleic acid and linoleic acid. It is also high in minerals and vitamins, especially Vitamin E.
Peach Kernel oil has anti-inflammatory, protective and moisturising properties. It is hypoallergenic, making it perfect for use on sensitive skin. It easily penetrates the skin leaving no greasy residue., promotes healthy skin and elasticity.
To effectively massage the perineum you will need to place pressure on it to help it stretch. This may be slightly uncomfortable, but mimics the pressure of baby's head during birth.

Lavender is renowned for its relaxation & healing properties. An extremely verstile oil, Lavender will calm emotions and helps promote a relaxed birth.

Lavender will help soothe all the aches and pains of pregnancy, encourages cell renewal and healing after birth, and can also help with fluid retention. It can help with insomnia, anxiety, depression and many minor ailments such as headaches.
Lavender is safe to use thoughout pregnancy and can also help with many of the minor upsets of infancy such as colic and childhood infections, as well as aiding restful sleep.
