The Kaya Stool is designed to support the most natural and physiologically effective positioning throughout labour and delivery. It encourages women to remain upright whilst giving them the opportunity to rest and change position as they see fit.

The Kaya Stool is moulded into organic compound curves to ergonomically and comfortably support the body. The nature of the curves help to relieve pressure on the perineum while seated in a squatting position. The firm plastic provides stability and resistance while gripping and pushing. 

The Kaya Stool is fully portable & waterproof. It can be used at home or in hospital; on land, or can be fully submerged in the birth pool. In fact the Kaya Stool is the only birth stool that can be fully submerged in water. 

The Kaya Stool's patented single part design is both stable and easy to clean & disinfect, easily meeting hospital standards for safety and infection control.

The double ridge design facilitates active participation and support of the birth partner. 

Specification

COMPOSITION - the Kaya Stool is made of a low-density food-grade plastic called polyethylene and is phthalate-free.

SIZE - the Kaya Stool is approx. 55 x 50cm, and 33cm tall.

WEIGHT - the Kaya Professional Stool weighs 7.5lbs / 3.4kg.

PATIENT SAFETY - the Kaya Professional Stool can safely support up to 50 stone / 317.5kg. The stool has been tested at weights exceeding 143 stone / 907kg & has been shown to never compromise patient safety by tearing or bursting. Instead, the material will gradually deform in a way that it will not be able to 'bounce back'.
